Data processing

This website (WordPress) can generally be used without entering personal data. If you do, we process personal data in accordance with Swiss data protection law. The processing of personal data is limited to data that is required to operate a functional website and for the provision of content and services. We only collect personal data that is necessary to implement and process our tasks and services or if you provide data voluntarily.

Hosting provider and access protocols

This page is maintained by cyon GmbH, Brunngässlein 12, 4052 Basel, and hosted on servers in Basel, Switzerland. Cyon automatically collects and stores information from your browser in so-called server log files. These data are: IP address, date and time including time zone, browser request including origin of the request (referrer), operating system used including user interface and version, browser used, including language and version, amount of data transferred. This storing is done due to security reasons to ensure the stability and integrity of our systems. The IP address is only evaluated if there are concrete indications of illegal use of the website or the systems connected to it. The log files are not evaluated for marketing purposes.

The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer necessary for the purpose of their collection. If the IP address is collected for the purpose of providing the website, this is at the latest when the respective browser session is terminated by the user. The log files are completely deleted at the end of the following month (i.e. a maximum of two months after visiting the website).

Cyon has contractually committed itself to protect the data of users of this website from external access and not to pass it on to third parties without legal obligation. Further information about the provider can be found in the cyon privacy policy.

SSL Encryption

This website uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of personal or confidential data. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the green lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL encryption is activated, the data that you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Cookies

We do not use cookies on our website.

Forms

On our website, we use forms for different purposes which are described further below. When you fill out and send a form, the data entered in the input mask is transmitted to us in encrypted form via a connection secured by SSL. Which data is collected can be seen from the respective form.

Contact form: If you fill out a contact form, send us an email or another form of electronic message, your data will only be used to process your inquiry and possible further questions you might have. We delete contact form data at regular intervals.

Registration for events: Your personal data will be stored and used for the purpose of organising the event in question and the associated technical administration. The data you enter in the form will remain with us. With your express consent, your data can be used to inform you on subsequent events that might interest you. Your data will only be passed on to third parties with your express consent.

Matomo Analytics

We do analyse the usage of our web presence with the analysis software Matomo. This analysis is exclusively for the purpose of optimizing the website with regards to usability and the provision of useful information about our services. The software runs on the same server as this website. No evaluation of personal data takes place. All analyses are based on anonymised datasets. No data is passed on to third parties. Your data protection rights

You have the right to request information about any of your personal data we process. In particular, you have the right to request information about the purpose of the processing, the categories of personal data, the categories of recipients who will have access or were disclosed with your data, the duration periods for saving the personal data, whether there is a right to adjust/correct, erase, restrict or object, transmission of data (as long as it does not cause a disproportionate effort to transmit these data), the source of your data if not collected through us and if we use automatic decision-making technologies including profiling. Additionally, you have the right to revoke a previously granted consent to use your personal data at any time.

If you believe that the processing of your personal data is inconsistent or contradicts the applicable data protection laws, you have the possibility to lodge a complaint with the data protection office.
